Expectations for their first year in Thailand...

(Evan and Melissa left August of 2015)

When we arrive will be settling down and starting into our Culture and Language learning.  YWAM's Shan Project said we will be spending a year on learning language and once again stressed the importance of this.  During this year we will be either learning Thai to grade six level or Thai (to level four) and another language (most likely either Shan or Burmese).  It sounds intense at this end but I believe our Lord will give us the ability to learn this language (maybe languages!) so that we can converse with the Thai people and bring them to know Him.

Which brings us to our heart in all this - we want the join the Shan Project because we really believe He will use our gifts and abilities for His Kingdom here on earth.  We want to see Thai, Shan, and Burmese coming to know Him so that they in turn can continue to spread the Gospel further!  We wish we could bring you more details about what's after language learning, but at this point we cannot.  Since our first year is language learning our second year isn't the focus just yet.

We are excited about the adventure that God has us on!  We are also excited about seeing our friends and family (including our church family!) coming alongside us and sharing in our ministry/life/adventure that He has us on!
