"LIVING FIT"!

March 13: “Being fit.”

Text: Topical

"Here O Israel, the Lord is Our God, the Lord alone, love the Lord your God with all your hear, with all your soul, with all your might and love your neighbour as yourself."

"Consider the rock from which you were hewn.  Consider the quarry from which you were cut.  Consider Abraham to be your father and Sara the one who gave birth to you."

The Question to consider as we work through Life:
"Who am I and what am I dong here?"

  1. A Question after Sin.
"Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the LORD GOD as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the LORD GOD among the trees of the garden.  But the LORD GOD called to the man, 'Where are you'?'" Gen 3:8-9

The Question isn't about place or proximity, but about Identity.  The Creator God:

    1. Is interested in what's going on.

    2. Is interested in man's Identity.

  2. A Question of Struggle: "Then the man said. 'Let me go for it is daybreak.'  But Jacob replied, 'I will not let you go unless you bless me.' The man asked, 'What is your name?' 'Jacob (Deceiver)' he answered.  Then the man said, 'Your name will now longer be Jacob, but Israel, because you have struggled with God and with men and have overcome.''" Gen 32:26-28

Knowing someone's name increases intimacy.  The Name Game:

    1. God wants your identity to be based on Relationship.

    2. God wants your identity to be Freed from your past

  3. A Question of Freedom
"Jesus asked him, 'What is your name?' 'Legion' he replied, because many demons had gone into him." Luke 8:26-30
    Jesus gluing it back together:
    1. He wants your identity to be freed from the present situation.

    2. He is asking that your story intersect with his.  You are part of God's story!

For Today:

Who am I?  Am I fractured? Do I find it from work, money, friends, family, surroundings...or what?  Why are you here?
